How to generate a DeepSeek API Key

Step-by-step guide to create a DeepSeek API key for BYOKBOT bring-your-own-key website chatbots.

  1. Navigate to the DeepSeek open platform and log in.
  2. From the sidebar navigation menu, select API keys.
  3. Click the Create API key button.
  4. Enter a name for the key (like Website Bot Embed) and click Create.
  5. Copy the key immediately and save it securely.
  6. Add balance to your account in the top up menu. DeepSeek offers token pricing from $0.14 to $0.55 per million tokens.

Secure key environment

Your keys are encrypted using AES-256 and never logged in plain text. For absolute security, you can toggle Local Sandbox Mode which keeps keys strictly in your local browser storage cache.
